Here are some recent happenings from our political scenario:
1. Justice K. M. Hassan has visited Ziaur Rahman’s grave for ziarat with BNP leaders.
2. CEC M. A. Aziz wanted nomination from BNP for election if he gets removed from his position as CEC.
3. PM Khaleda Zia told people that if Awami League goes against her caretaker government, then BNP will stop that.
Three simple developments. One scary conclusion. Bangladesh Nationalist Caretaker-Govt. (BNC)

This is an article by Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal published in the daily Prothom Alo on September 27 2006.
I could not believe what I was reading. PLEASE read it and share this with others. We all should do as much as we can to help this situation.
I am feeling extremely guilty that something like this has been going on in Bhobodoho, Jessore and I had no idea about it.

The Nizami-Khaleda government in its attempt to create own history of Bangladesh has produced a documentary titled Bangladesh, Amar Bangladesh that aired in Bangladesh Television (BTV) - the state owned media on September 22 and 23 2006.
Irrespective of political beliefs, this program has only gained the criticisms of the common mass and their disgust. The only thing this program portrayed was that late president Ziaur Rahman was the only component of our historic 1971 War of Independence.
Nazi propaganda leader Joseph Goebbels - sometimes called the Father of Propaganda - would have been proud of this program. A newspaper report can be found HERE.

Over the past five years, the Nizami-Khaleda government has appointed 27,000 Shibir and Chattra Dal cadres as policemen. No rules or procedures were followed. Many of these men have charges of rape, murder, kidnapping etc. against them.
The result of this is what we are seeing now - complete privatization of the police force in favor of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh and BNP. During hartals, these policemen take the front row in beating up activists.
We, the common people of Bangladesh, have become just onlookers. No one listens to us.

In a satirical commentary by the renown editor of The Daily Star newspaper from Bangladesh, Mahfuz Anam has apologized to Tarique Zia for voicing concerns about electing honest candidates in Bangladesh’s coming election.
It is an open secret in Bangladesh that Tarique Rahman, son of the late president Ziaur Rahman, is a “Mr. 10 per cent” in the business and financial world. No one can do a decent business without paying him (or his office, the notorious Hawa Bhaban) 10 per cent of their earnings/investments.

This is a great article by Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal on the issue of granting the madrasa exams Bachelor’s and Master’s equivalency.
The article shows how shameless and incompetent the Nizami-Khaleda government is.
