People’s struggle depicted as military fighting; Jamaat’s abhorrent role avoided

Government publishing new history of Liberation War The BNP-Jamaat government has completed the groundwork to publish a sector-based history of the country’s 1971 liberation war with incongruity and distorting real annals. The 11-chapter history book will be available in the market soon.

The government has done such a work with a view to turning the people’s war into a military fighting, the experts commented. The writers also escaped technically the abhorrent role of Jamaat-e-Islami in the entire history.

According to sources, besides the sector-based history, another book based on Brigade is also awaiting publication. There are many false information and also mistakes in every chapter of the history.

It is alleged that the new book has directly avoided the name of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Instead the entire government sponsored book is full of eulogy for the then Major Ziaur Rahman, who was one of the sector commanders fighting the liberation war and founded the present ruling BNP after capturing power as Chief of Martial Law Administrator following the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib by some army officers in 1975.
